The Story Teller

The Men's Shed Society of Alberta has brought on board the esteemed Métis writer, storyteller, and photographer, Lorna Dancey, to visit various Men's Sheds across the province. Her mission is to capture and share the heartfelt stories of members, delving into what being part of the Men's Shed community truly means to them.

Today, the Men's Shed in Grande Prairie had the distinct pleasure of hosting Lorna. Her exceptional talent lies in weaving narratives that resonate deeply, combined with evocative photography that brings stories to life. Through her lens and words, Lorna has a unique ability to highlight the essence of her subjects, making their experiences and emotions palpable to all.

Lorna's dedication to storytelling is evident in her diverse projects. Her "State of Mind" photography and storytelling exhibit sheds light on personal journeys related to mental health, aiming to inspire hope and change. Additionally, her collaboration on the "UNTOLD" project focuses on amplifying voices and stories that might otherwise remain unheard.

The Men's Shed Grande Prairie is truly fortunate to have had Lorna visit and document their stories, further emphasizing the profound impact of community and shared experiences.

Check out Lorna at her website lornadancey.com.
